Rabbits

Rabbit meat is well known for its high protein content. A 3-oz serving contains 28 g of protein, more than beef or chicken. Rabbit is also a concentrated source of iron, one serving containing more than 4mg. Rabbit provides a wide range of minerals, the highest levels including 204mg of phosphorous and 292mg of potassium. The calories in rabbit meat are low as well, one serving contains only 147 calories! Additionally, the environment impact from raising rabbits is low. The period from conception to harvest is only 3 months, and the amount of food they eat is minimal when compared to other animals.
